Perfect Skin in One Month for $100

June 11, 2013 by Olivia

perfect-skin

Every woman I know is in search of perfect skin. Even more preferred is when that perfect skin costs a lot less than the typical New York facial ($250-plus). I have been working with a lot of different products over the years, and have finally settled on an effective regimen that will only take about 10-minutes a day, $100, and one-month to see some serious results.

AM ROUTINE

Step One- Cleansing: We all know that soap is the quickest route to dry, wrinkled skin. Instead, pick up some Boots Expert Sensitive Cleansing and Toning Wipes. These offer gentle, deep cleansing, and will only cost $20 for the month (used twice a day- AM and PM).

Step Two- Moisturizing: You could always use a separate toner, however, most experts agree that it is an unnecessary extra step, so why bother. Moisturizing, on the other hand, is the foundation to every woman who has perfect skin. Unless your skin is an oil mine, Reviva 10% Glycolic Acid Night Cream ($18) is a powerful moisturizer made for nighttime use, but works absolutely fantastic in the day.

Step Three- Sunscreen: Sunscreen is often heavy, and doesn’t mix well with your makeup. Eltamd UV Clear SPF 46 ($23) is light, oil-free, feels great on sensitive skin (like mine), and doesn’t mess around with anything less than SPF 46.

PM ROUTINE

Step One- Cleansing– Boots Expert Sensitive Cleansing and Toning Wipes.

Step Two- Retin-A: There are many snake oils that make a lot of promises. However, when it comes to my own skin, I choose the only proven wrinkle fighter, good old Retin-A. RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream ($20) is my chosen knight in wrinkle-free armor, but most any 0.01%- 0.025% Retin-A (Tretinoin- generic name) treatment should do. (use every other day if you experience minor irritation)

Step Three: Fade Cream: Fade spots are a natural occurrence in life, made worse by fare skin and previous sun damage. Hydroquinone is one of the safest options out there, according to most dermatologists, which is why I trust  Nadinola Skin Discoloration Fade Cream ($25 for a 3-pack) to get the job done. (Remember to give your skin a three month break for every three months of hydroquinone use)

Keep in mind, dairy and gluten are known culprits of blemishes (a.k.a. pimples), so if all else fails, try a 14-day ban of these foods. Enjoy your new skin!
